We must define spirituality by what it is not: it is not a religion, a doctrine, a faith, or a system of rules to live by. It is about the freedom of the self, freedom of the soul. It invites one to go beyond the limited concepts of the rational mind and enter into the divine energy of love and peace. In the real experience of a source connection, one does not need concepts, books, beliefs or faith. One feels at peace in the heart, and moves through things with ease, grace, inner knowing, and trust.
Like Michelangelo, who removed the stone to find the masterpiece that was always there, like Dorothy in Oz, who walked the yellow brick road to find the way home, the answer is in our own shoes. The kingdom is within. The way we travel there is not important because all roads lead to the same destination. All sacred teachings and great wisdom must take us home, to live from the centerpoint, to a place within that is a location of a higher consciousness of love, power and peace.
As I write the questions that one must ask to begin an alchemical journey of transformation, I am struck by the idea of asking the same questions to those who want to succeed in business and to grow their career and to have amazing success.
- Am I ready to have a great life?
- Am I willing to do all that it takes to change and grow and heal?
- Can I let go of victimhood and blame?
- Can I take full responsibility for my life?
- Am I free to follow my own heart and to speak my truth?
- Do I live by the rules and concept of others?
- Do I have strong healthy boundaries of self-love and self -esteem?
- What really makes me happy and what really matters to me?
- What do I really want?
- What do I want to accomplish on my time on earth?
- What do I want people to remember me for?
- Am I brave enough to face myself and all my fears?
Spiritual power invites us to access our highest potential. It allows us to do more with less; to attract through magnetization and to create our destiny with positive energy. It inspires us to move beyond mediocrity into our full power.
How do we begin to utilize this sacred fuel? We must begin by correcting learned mis-information about the meaning of success. Real success must be redefined to mean inner fulfillment based on true life purpose, alignment with our highest dreams, and a divine connection between you and your heart/soul. You are rich because you travel on your true path. Your happiness does not depend on ratings/charts/awards but instead on the energy of living as your authentic self. No one owns you, your needs are not outside of your self, and you love to go to work. It matters what you do and to many. You invite others to do the same.
We begin the journey of success by asking the same spiritual question we ask to live with real happiness – am I ready to live in authenticity and to be true to myself?
