Do you worry? Of course you do, because we all do. But taking a deeper look into it and why we do it is kind of profound and very Zen. Because, worry is an action, and when you really investigate it, it actually helps worry. Worry is a thing to do when you are depressed, when you have been through trauma, when you are in fear. It’s an active infinitive: you worry, and it is a thing to do. It is a distraction.
Think about it for a second. We need to do something physical or mental in order to get through some of the harder things in life. And so, we worry to get through worrying.
Now that you know it, this is a beautiful gem to healing because it kind of busts it. Once you bust the mystery of something, you actually begin to heal it because you can’t hide it anymore.
So think about the action of worry, and when you do it, and what it gives you. When you figure that out, it’s like a color. Worry would be like gray, green, gross, muddy, icky color. When you want to feel good and heal, you want to be in a different color, like the color of gold.
So how do we change from the green, worry, horrible feeling of fear and worry into the gold of peace? Again, it’s to know that you’re doing it, and then to bust it. Notice it, stop it, and then you no longer need the energy of worry.
